CAMILLE MAURINE'S MOVING THEATER

In 2002, CoMMiT gave a
series of seven improvisational performances in Santa
Monica, California on the theme of love and intimacy.
"Open Secrets" , Improvisations on the Light and
Shadow of Love was a daring experiment in a unique,
completely spontaneous format, and we mean 100% improv,
diving into the great unknown together, both performers
and audience. Each evening was entirely different, a kind
of moving dream that exposed some of the secrets that
pulse in the human heart. The particular texture each
night was created through the interplay among the
performers, as well as the presence and attention of the
audience. The house was filled to capacity and many
audience members attended several
performances. This group of talented
dancers, actors, artists and healers has been working
with Camille for years, cultivating the rapport, skills
and artful awareness of Moving Theater that was evident
in these performances. For this series, Camille gave
herself the challenge of being both director and
performer. A documentary is being created on CoMMiT and
the intimate interactions that Camille and this group
experienced together. CoMMiT Performers 2002 (as

CoMMiT
is a living, evolving form of experimental theater.
Created and directed by Camille Maurine, this exciting,
body-based performance process is about bringing the
inner world out into creative expression. Through an
unusual weaving of dance, sound, and words, the
performers reveal images, stories, myths, and dreams that
pulse in the human heart. CoMMiT is a Moving Theater of
the soul - raw, tender, hilarious, and deeply
personal.
